Background:
Koase Akura and 4 other surrounding villages are located in the Nsawkaw District in the Bono Region of Ghana.
It is a predominantly farmer community with a total of 362 residents; 50%
of which are children under the age of 12.
All 5 villages did not have their own well. The only source of water was a river. This leads
however, no water during the dry season, so residents were then forced to use her

risk of contracting waterborne diseases. Severe diarrheal diseases such as B. the
